We have been calling for this for years but Sony of Japan has finally announced a PSP Cradle (currently only for Japan but as always, it will find its way state side via eBay and eventually official launch). With its April 24th launch, you are given the option to spend your money in two lovely ways. With AV cables for ¥6500 (USD$62), while the cradle alone will cost ¥4800 (USD$46).
Now, I and many others dont own a PSP-2000 (aka Slim) and this is meant for those users who want to hookup their PSP to their TV to output the video or charge the unit. This on its own is a fine option but I think Sony is forgetting the bigger picture. The dock we have been calling for can not only charge your PSP, but it should more so be so you can set it down next to your PC (and Mac one day) and give you the option to plug a USB cable to sync it for use of the PlayStation Store. That seems to me like a much more solid product then a video out option. So a recap, video out and charge are cool but can we get another dock with more “meat” to it? Then, ALL PSP users can get something out of. Having said that,we would love to be sponsored for a PSP-2000! Were still rocking the fat boy from launch date here.
Hit the Magic button for some pics and the press release as always.
