Now Sony has gone on the record like Apple that they are aware and watching the NetBook market, but have no real intentions of joining it or joining it yet. Well this little tidbit from the FCC shows that Sony might just be closer to the Netbook then they are letting on. Dubbed the PCG-1P1L (and closely named to the Vaio series) is sporting a 802.11 B/G/N with Bluetooth, EVDO and HSPA. The labeling states that its powered by Windows OS (not stating which version) and size is around 9.7 by 4.7 inches. Thats a fairly small bugger right there. Now for all we know, this could be a test product or part of a completely different product line that has nothing to do with Netbooks. Having said that, I don’t mind Sony going to the Netbooks, but don’t go for the sake of volume. Go because you have something different to offer thats profitable. Again, take a bite from Apples strategy. If there is no profit in a market, why be there?
