PS Vita 3.10 Update Coming Today (3-24-14)

5-18-2012ps-vita-whiteThe PlayStation Blog has announced that the PlayStation Vita Software Update 3.10 will be going live later today. This update brings several new and useful features to the system. One of the biggest features included in this update is an increase to 500 maximum apps displayable on the Vita’s home screen. When compared to the current maximum of 100 apps, it seems likely that larger memory cards may be coming to the Western market soon (Japan currently has a 64GB memory card). Beyond the increase to the app limit there are several new features in this update. First up is a new calendar app that will be added to the Vita. While a calendar may not seem exciting, it is interesting to note that the Blog says the app will allow you to sync with any Google calendars which will allow you to have all of your events on your Vita. Hopefully this will lead to even more integration with with other services to make the Vita an even more well-rounded device.

Manage Memory Vita

This update will also include a new way to manage data on your memory cards with the addition of a “Manage Content on Memory Card” option. This will give users more control and greater flexibility to manage files saved onto their memory cards.

Voice Message Vita

The final feature outlined for update 3.10 is the ability to send voice messages to your friends using the Messages application. These voice messages can be sent to users of both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. We will update this article if any other features are included once the update goes live later today!
