Sony Xperia SPSeemingly out of nowhere, Sony has been quietly updating older Xperia smartphones. Just the other day, the Sony Xperia E update 11.3.A.2.33 went live which brought minor changes. Now, the Sony Xperia SP update 12.1.A.1.207 has been certified, so let’s talk details.

Since the update itself isn’t live yet, little is known about it. What we can report is that the Xperia SP update 12.1.A.1.207 is compatible with the three different versions of the handset which include:

  • C5302
  • C5303
  • C5306

The previous Xperia SP update was build 12.1.A.1.205. As can be seen from the difference in build numbers, the update will bring with it minor changes and will likely not be even noticeable to users. No word yet if the Sony Xperia SP will move beyond Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to 4.4 Kit Kat.
