Though Sony might be doing its best to not let the cat out of the bag in regards to their next Android endeavor, the leaks continue. We already know quite a bit about the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact (alongside a mystery tablet). Now the latest leaks come in the form of product schematics that place the two unannounced devices next to each other. Besides learning about what makes the two phones different from each other, we can also now more accurately report on their advancements, compared to Sony’s current product line. After the jump, we talk details.

When compared against the current flagship Xperia Z2, the Sony Xperia Z3 is narrower (0.34mm). With a 7.3mm thickness, the Xperia Z3 (pictured above) is also 0.9mm thinner than the Xperia Z2, an impressive feat to accomplish with only 6 months between products. Thanks to the leaked schematics, we can also confidently confirm previous rumors that the Xperia Z3 would carry a slightly smaller 5.15-inch display, versus the 5.2-inch display that’s found on the Xperia Z2. Resolution is, however, expected to remain locked at 1080p.

For the smaller Xperia Z3 Compact (pictured below), despite previous rumors of a 1080p screen (which could still be possible), it’s more and more looking like the 4.6-inch phone will offer a 720p display. Most other dimensions place the device’s weight and size close to the Sony Xperia Z1.

If you could get all the features of the Xperia Z3 in a smaller compact design, would you opt for the larger displayed Z3 or the smaller Z3 Compact?
