Meet the 2015 Sony Sound Bar HT-CT780 with 4K Output

Ever wished you could have all the features of the Sony Sound Bar HT-CT380 but with 4K output? Well allow me to introduce you to the Sony Sound Bar HT-CT780. Visually identical to the CT380, the latest sound bar and part of their 2015 fleet includes a 2.1 surround sound with a wireless subwoofer. Packing a little more power (330W total power output verse the 300W), the new Sound Bar also has plenty of audio codecs, streaming features and yes, even 4K output.

Those details after the jump.

Packing in a total of 330W, the 2.1 surround sound CT780 offers a two-way speaker construction that uses a woofer and tweeter to deliver full-frequency, balanced stereo sound. With these speaker setup comes a host of audio codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Sony even has built in something called Cinematic S-Force PRO Front Surround for

an immersive virtual surround sound experience. S-Force PRO Front Surround mimics the way the brain correlates sound sources to create proper volume, time lag, and sound wave spectrum – using only left and right speaker channels. By naturally emulating three-dimensional sound fields, you’ll be able to enjoy rich, high-fidelity audio across a wider listening area.

As I noted earlier, besides a small power output gain over the CT380, the CT780 also provides 4K and 3D pass-through for 4K content thanks to HDCP 2.2. Android users will enjoy easy connection thanks to NFC while streaming is universal for iOS, Android, and Windows users via Bluetooth. Again like the CT380, the HT-CT780 also includes something called ClearAudio+ which according to Sony, enriches your music.

Unique to Sony, ClearAudio+ automatically adjusts sound settings for an enriching listening experience. By bringing together expertise in digital signal processing technologies, ClearAudio+ is able to optimise audio formats to deliver a consistently clear, high-quality sound – whatever music you’re into.

Finding room for the ultra-slim sound bar shouldn’t be a problem as it measures 103cm (40.6) width x 5.5cm (2.2) height x 11.7cm (4.6) depth. The Sony Sound Bar HT-CT780 is now available for $449.
