Meet the Sony h.ear on Headphones with Hi-Res Audio & Noise Cancellation

CES 2016 Sony h.ear on headphones

Sony is no stranger to headphones and quality ones at that but at CES, the company’s newly-announced h.ear on headphones were not only able to stand out from the glut of headphones that manufacturers release each year, but from Sony’s own past lineup as well.

It’s obvious from the minute you see the h.ear on headphones (and yes, it’s all lower case) that Sony is going after a youthful demographic. While premium in every aspect, the h.ear on series opts out of the traditional dark tones and instead is offered in vibrant colors which can be seen after the jump. But besides a fun coat of paint, the h.ear on headphones pack a lot of powerful features that could make them your next headphones.

Those details after the jump.

The Bluetooth enabled h.ear on headphones feature Digital Noise Canceling with a simple touch of the button. While past models from Sony required them to be connected via a cable for noise cancelling or audio playback, the h.ear on series via Bluetooth can act as just a noise cancelation device if you so chose to.

The new h.ear on Wireless NC cuts out distracting ambient noise to let consumers focus on the music.  Dual noise sensor technology featuring Digital Noise Canceling software reduces a variety of ambient sound through microphones both inside and outside the housings. What’s more, the Automatic Al Noise Canceling function constantly analyzes environmental ambient sound and selects the most effective noise-cancelling mode.

But once you slip on the ever-so-comfortable pairs, you’ll likely want to play your favorite jams and man do these units deliver. This is in part due to their 40 mm HD drivers which reproduce sounds up to 40 kHz, and DSEE technology, which offer natural and expansive sound along side Hi-Res Audio. Best yet, battery life is pegged at 20 hours, making them perfect for travel.

Augmented bass is complimented by lightweight CCAW voice coils, which yield high-linearity responses in high-pitched sounds. Aiming to provide a superior sound experience, the domes of the acoustic diaphragms have been titanium-coated to minimize unwanted vibrations. Meanwhile, Beat Response Control improves the transient characteristic in bass reproduction and delivers accurate rhythm, while an acoustic port on the housing controls air flow for optimal diaphragm movement and additional bass range.

With 9mm driver for crisp sound and Clear voice hands-free calling with built in microphone and HD Voice, there isn’t anymore you could want from a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Sony has yet to issue a price tag on the h.ear on headphones or release date though the latter is expected in early 2016.
