A quick update on an earlier piece about the Xperia XZ Premium Dual. Previously, via a tweet from Sony Mobile France, it was believed that the Xperia XZ Premium Dual would offer a dedicated SD card slot and skip on the hybrid SIM tray which allows for only one SIM card and SD card (or two SIM cards).

That information has since turned out to be false. Here is the XperiaBlog gang:

This was following on from a tweet by Sony Xperia France, which has since been deleted.

Well, now we know why it was deleted. The official user manual for the Xperia XZ Premium confirms that the dual SIM model will feature a hybrid SIM tray after all. Therefore, you can only use one SIM card, if you plan to use a SD card at the same time.

For those wanting a dedicated SD card slot, the only two phones remaining in the Sony lineup with that ability are the Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra. Does this news deter you at all from purchasing one or is a lacking dedicated SD card slot not a purchase killer for you?
