There is little doubt that the PlayStation 4 is commanding a huge lead on the Xbox One. Since their respective launches, the Sony-backed console has sold 7 million units while the 3rd gaming console from Microsoft has only sold 5 million. Even that 5 million number seems to be inflating things for the Xbox One since those are units shipped and not actually sold to consumers versus the number that Sony has released which is units sold. To keep things simple, even if we go with the 7 million vs. 5 million number, we can see that consumers are voting with their wallets and they’re choosing the PS4.
One reason is the $100 price different between the console though Microsoft has done a sneaky price drop on the Xbox One Titanfall bundle with a $499 price point. You can either see that as MS is offering Titalfall for free or cutting the price of the Xbox One by $60. Either way you look at it, MS is eating $60 to make the Xbox One more attractive to consumers. Beyond the price difference between the two consoles, consumers are also opting for the PS4 due to the huge library of games it commands over the Xbox One and that list is likely to only grow.

It’s been no secret that PlayStation and Naughty Dog had plans to bring The Last of Us to the PlayStation 4. When the game was originally delayed by a few months, many assumed that it was due to a shift in development and that the title would in fact come out for the PlayStation 4. While that did’t pan out, The Last of Us is now headed to the PS4 with development having begun directly after the PS3 title was released. Now let’s talk details about The Last of Us Remastered, which is being handled in house by Naughty Dog.

The PlayStation Blog recently revealed the list of PlayStation Store Top Sellers for March. I have been a fan of the Deception franchise since Tecmo’s Deception: Invitation to Darkness released for the original PlayStation in 1996. In that game you play as a servant of the devil and are tasked with defending ‘The Castle of the Damned’ from all manner of heroes and adventurers who are unfortunate enough to enter. The gameplay was in the 1st person perspective and to defeat the enemies the player had to set traps to either stun, kill, or capture the intruders. My preteen self enjoyed the dark story and unique (at-the-time) concept of playing as the ‘bad guy’. Fast forward to today and it has been 9 years since the last Deception game. This week Deception IV: Blood Ties released here in the United States and became the newest entry in the franchise. Does Deception IV: Blood Ties stack up to its predecessors? You can now count Justin Richmond among the many high profile departure at Sony. Richmond had previously worked on all three prior Uncharted titles before heading Uncharted 4 on the PlayStation 4 as Game Director. It seems that Richmond’s departure isn’t an abrupt one as he’ll be leaving Naughty Dog to join Riot Games. Richmond:
Since its release in November, the PlayStation 4 has received a ton of new game announcements. All of these announcements can be hard to keep track of, but luckily the PlayStation Blog has put all of the information into one easy to follow list. They have compiled every PlayStation 4 game that has either released already or will release at some point this year. Obviously this list is subject to change, but it seems pretty comprehensive. A few notable games that jump out to are Mercenary Kings (
