While we’ve been able to enjoy the PS4 in the US since mid November, Japan, home of the famous console won’t still be able to get their hands on the powerful console for another month. As a tradeoff, the land of the rising sun has had the PlayStation Vita Slim (PS Vita 2000) which offers a slimmer profile, LCD display (vs. OLED), and a reduced price since October. According to an invitation that’s being sent out to press, Sony has some form of announcement to make tomorrow, January 30th. The announcement reads:
You are invited to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation.
Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.

Welcome to the PlayStation Store update for January 28, 2014. We have a great update this week packed full of new content and sales. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition leads the charge this week on PlayStation 4. This version features beautifully updated visuals that make this already fantastic game fit right at home on the PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 3 began it’s life as the destination for entertainment content. Blu-ray was supposed to become the dominant format following DVD, and the PS3 was the only video game console to support the new medium. As it turned out, downloadable and streaming video became the destination for entertainment content, as services like Netflix, Hulu, and even traditionally broadcast-based networks like PBS and ESPN took to the internet. HBO Go has found its way to many devices, including the Xbox 360 (still no timetable for an Xbox One release), but had yet to make it to the PlayStation ecosystem–but that’s going to change very soon.
