Sony Updates Music Unlimited App for iOS 7 Devices

Music Unlimited iOS 7 App Update

Just a real brief one for those who happen an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch and use Music Unlimited. Sony has updated their app, bringing in full compatibility with iOS 7 devices. According to Sony, Music Unlimited version 1.3.3 comes in at 24.1 MB brings:

  • iOS 7 Support
  • Support for remotely deauthorizing devices for offline playback

However, don’t get too excited as this is not a full redesign to probably take into consideration the UI changes brought for iOS 7. Nor is there a native iPad version of this app. For that, we will likely have to wait another 3 years. Those looking to update need to simply launch the app store on their iOS device.

‘Sound Shapes’ Review, A Year Later and Still a Must Buy

Featured Sound Shapes Review Vita

Now that Sound Shapes has been out for just over a year, I’ve finally purchased the game and completed the campaign (all in 1-2 weeks of casual yet addicted gameplay). “Good for you, Allegra,” you might be thinking. “Way to be A YEAR TOO LATE.” Yeah, well, you’d be right. I am late. But, with the revived love for the game that comes with the one-year anniversary, I write to you as a big fan who can’t help but sing praises for this simple and deceiving (read: not actually simple) game. I am here to remind you how amazing of a game Sound Shapes is, especially a year after its release.

If you’re a music person like I am, buy this game. The team at Queasy Games (and Sony Santa Monica) pulled out all the stops with this one. They start you off with some fantastic beats that get you dancing, and your successful gameplay enhances the music throughout each level. If you miss just one note, you are missing out on a part of the music that makes it that much cooler, and it gives you a reason to want to go back for another round. Not that you need one. I played some of the levels over and over again just to listen to the music and to see if I could do it just a little faster. At this point you might be thinking, “What the heck is Sound Shapes?”

Sony Corporate Logo

Xperia Z, Ultra, Z1, Z1 Mini, Tablet Z, PlayStation 4, more EISA awards for Bravia TVs, QX10/QX100 camera lenses, Smartwatch 2 – Sony is undoubtedly on the move this year as multiple investments reach a pinnacle in their cycle. Some of them, such as the PlayStation 4, represent a multi-billion dollar investment spanning several years that is only appearing above the horizon now as it prepares for major release. Economic, political and cultural events in the background may mean that 2013 is not only the year that Sony is back, but as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says: “Japan is Back“.

‘Dragon Fantasy Book II’ Review

Dragon Fantasy Book 2_01The JRPG Dragon Fantasy Book II continues the story started in Dragon Fantasy Book I which came out on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in April of this year. Unlike the first game, which was done in an 8-bit graphic style and paid homage to the Nintendo era, Dragon Fantasy Book II instead focuses on imitating the graphics and game-play mechanics the great RPGs from the time of the Super Nintendo. While there are many enjoyable and positive things to say about The Muteki Corporation’s latest offering, there are a few things that keep the experience from being everything it could be. Sony – Powering Rival Smartphone Cameras

Xperia Z Ultra

Sony may be making headlines for its smartphone-mounted cameras and 20 megapixel-rumored flagships, but the company has been winning a war behind the scenes too. The Japanese firm is a leading producer of CMOS camera sensors for the smartphone market, reaching beyond their own Xperia handsets and seemingly some of the rivals’ flagship phones too. But the real secret behind the success may be the innovation.

Sony, Disney, and Kevin Spacey: New Media Continues to Emerge (video)

Sony HQ TokyoAnyone who doesn’t live under a rock these days will fast admit that the landscape of media delivery is rapidly changing. Netflix, Hulu, iTunes and others offer an alternative to sitting down in front of the T.V. or heading to the theater at a pre-arranged time, which often leaves the viewer’s schedule at the mercy of said networks or theaters. While all of us consume media in one way or another, Sony and Disney are the first studios to undertake a venture that points to the continuing shift in how that media is received: the two giants have begun streaming new movies, making them available to consumers at home while they are still playing in traditional theaters.

After the break, read more details about about Sony’s project, what it could mean for those at home, and hear what Kevin Spacey had to say recently about television’s role in all of this, the emergence of new media and the responsibility companies have to their viewers.

Sony to Announce New 4K NEX-FS700R Camera and Next Generation Action Camera Soon?

Sony NEX-FS700R Document

Thanks to the Taiwan’s NCC Agency, we learned late last week that Sony would be soon announcing the NEX-5T. While not a lot of details are known about the camera, a registry like that points to a near future release. Not to be outdone, a Korean Agency has let it slip that Sony has just registered the NEX-FS700R and NEX-FS700RH. If those models sound familiar, that’s because the NEX-FS700 is a current 4K camera from Sony that also happens to be priced far below the industry darling RED cameras. Like the NEX-5T, we have no details to go off of, other than the camera does exist and is likely being announced in the coming weeks. What we do know, however, is that, judging from their names, the two new models very carry over the 4K tradition with improvements and not a radical shift as the series model number has stayed the same.
