Sony Xperia Agent, an Amazon Echo Competitor

Sony Xperia Agent

Sony isn’t kidding about its IoT ambitions. Having already purchased Altair Semiconductor for $200 million to beef up their home automation initiatives, Sony is ready to release their first concept product for the home that’s designed to take on the Amazon Echo. From Sony:

The Xperia Agent concept is a vision for a personalised assistant. It will enhance everyday life by responding to voice and gestures – providing you with useful information, communication assistance and home appliance controls. It is also powered by Sony’s voice technology and will respond to a number of commands

Sony Smart Ear Bluetooth Headset Also Leaks Prior to MWC 2016

MWC_2016_Sony_Smart_Hear_BLuetooth_Headset_LeakA big rumor surrounding iPhone 7 (when it will likely debut this fall) is a pair of small, wireless headsets. Not to be outdone, it looks like Sony is launching their own take come tomorrow at MWC 2016. Leaking after the mystery Xperia smartphone and the Xperia PP10, the Sony Smart Ear Bluetooth Headset is exactly what the name suggests. Beyond that, not a lot is known though it’s highly doubtful that Sony will include this with any smartphones and instead, this is more likely to be an additional accessory you can purchase.

With MWC 2016 just hours away, we won’t have to wait long to find out more about this ultra-small headset. On a personal note, really? Three devices just hours away before the big show? Good for us, but terrible for Sony.

Mystery Sony Xperia Smartphone Leaks Ahead of MWC 2016

MWC_2016_Sony_Xperia_Mystery_LeakIf one leak wasn’t enough for you, here is another. Also likely to be launched tomorrow, we don’t know a whole lot about this mystery smartphone though it’s near certain that it’s not as high-end as the Sony Xperia PP10 which in itself is not a flagship phone. The above picture however does reveal a few details about it which can be found after the jump.

Sony Xperia PP10 Leaks Prior to MWC 2016

MWC_2016_Sony_Xperia_PP10_LeakSony has never been good at keeping secrets and even worse 24-48 hours before their unveiling. I give you the Sony Xperia PP10 with the latter part of the name likely a codename and not the retail branding. Likely to be unveiled tomorrow, the Xperia PP10 will

use the MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) chipset with a 720p display. The new devices will also run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

From what I can gather, the PP10 is a mid-range device though it’s not clear if it’s here to replace something like the M5 or is an addition to the lineup – though it takes a few specs from the Z5. More details after the jump.

Sony Mobile MWC 2016 Keynote Date & Time Announced

Sony_Booth_MWC

Sony Mobile didn’t have much to announce at CES 2016. In fact, despite leaks prior to the show of a pink Xperia Z5, Sony revealed the new handset color a week after CES which was quite odd. Now, the company has dated their MWC 2016 keynote date and time where we’ll hopefully get to see some new products from Sony.

Details after the jump.
