Sony’s Sorcery Finally Comes To PlayStation 3

Developed in collaboration with Santa Monica Studios, The Workshop’s Sorcery was finally released on PSN and in retail earlier today. Sorcery is a PlayStation Move-enabled title and lets users conjure a myriad of magical powers using their PS Move controller.

Sorcery is this year’s most anticipated PS Move-exclusive title and perhaps the killer app PlayStation Move needs to be rejuvinated.

The Senior Vice President of PlayStation Brand Marketing at SCEA, Guy Longworth, had this to say about the highly-anticipated motion-control game:

 “Sorcery has remained one of the most eagerly anticipated titles for PlayStation 3 since it was first announced and we’re thrilled to offer this unique title to gamers everywhere today; 

Longworth also said that Sorcery was built with the PlayStation Move control in mind and is set to bring an unparalleled gaming experience that’s exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

 “Built from the ground up with PlayStation Move in mind from the beginning, Sorcery takes full advantage of our motion controller’s precision to provide a compelling gaming experience that is sure to capture the imaginations of players of all ages.” 

In Sorcery, the player controls Finn, the teenage apprentice. Finn’s got a lot of potential to become a great sorcerer. However, his curiosity leads him to meet the Nightmare Queen; a devious being bent on unleashing eternal night in the land.

Sorcery’s features include:

  • Wield the power of a legendary sorcerer’s wondrous magic wand – Cast extraordinary magic, brew enchanted elixirs, solve ingenious puzzles and combat the minions of darkness.
  • Power in your hands – Get closer to the action than ever before. With the PlayStation Move motion controller, you hold the apprentice’s weapon in your hands. Cast powerful spells, conjure storms, unleash walls of living fire, and transform into magical creatures. Then combine your spells for even more power. The possibilities are endless!
  • Transform from a fledgling apprentice into a master wizard- Start from humble farm boy beginnings, with only a small arsenal of magic at your disposal, to an unstoppable magic force!
  • Journey into the dark of the Faerie Realm – Embark on your adventure throughout the dangerous Faerie Kingdom. Battle undead soldiers, corrupted forest guardians, and giant stone trolls as you face down the forces of the Nightmare Queen.
