Great news for fight fans, Tecmo-Koei and Team NINJA’s Dead or Alive 5+ is coming to the PlayStation Vita this March. Featuring over 20 characters, all the stages from the console version, as well as a number of PS Vita specific features that’ll get your blood boiling, your heart pumping, and your fists flying.

Learn more about Dead or Alive 5+ and it’s PS Vita specific features after the break.

Like PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale and Marvel vs Capcom 3 before it, Dead or Alive 5+ will feature cross play between the Vita and the PS3. This means as a Vita owner, you’ll be able to compete against Dead or Alive 5 (PS3) players  and vice versa. Tecmo Koei has promised that the game will run at 60 frames per second on the Vita even during cross play so we’ll see if that comes to fruition.

Oh and let’s not forget that PS Vita users can share their downloaded DLC from PS3 to Vita and vice vice versa. If you purchased a costume for your DOA5 PS3 copy, you’ll be able to move that costume onto the Vita and use it on DOA5+. In addition, Players can even move their save files from PS3 to Vita, so all unlocked items can be moved from one console to the other.

Dead or Alive 5+ will include favorite characters including:

  • Ayane
  • Bass Armstrong
  • Bayman
  • Brad Wong
  • Christie
  • Eliot
  • Hayate
  • Helena Douglas
  • Hitomi
  • Jann Lee
  • Kasumi
  • Kokoro
  • La Mariposa
  • Lisa Hamilton
  • Lei Fang
  • Mila
  • Rig
  • Ryu Hayabusa
  • Tina Armstrong
  • Zack

Finally, one of the most interesting new additions to the game is the ability to use touch controls to fight. With these touch-screen controls, you can even switch the camera into a third person perspective making it feel more like a deep brawler. Or, if you’re so inclined, you can hold your Vita vertically and switch the camera into a first person perspective. A first-person, touch-screen, fight mode? Sounds crazy! But crazy enough that it might work!

Dead or Alive 5+ is coming to the PS Vita on March 19, 2013.
