Resident Evil Revelations Coming to PS3 in May

Resident Evil Retaliation

Capcom recently announced that Resident Evil Revelations is coming to the PS3 in May. Since most of us here are PS3 and Vita players, we missed out on Resident Evil Revelations when it first came out for the Nintendo 3DS. It was so good in fact that many Resident Evil fans consider it a better title than Resident Evil 6 for the consoles.

Taking place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations casts players as either Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield (along with each of their partners) as they try to solve solve the mystery within the abandoned Cruise Ship Queen Zeonbia.

Thankfully, Capcom is bringing RE back to its roots with Revelations; there will be a greater focus on building tension, terror, and atmosphere throughout the adventure. You’ll have to make do with limited ammunition and healing items. As well, enemies are tougher and more horrific than ever before. Just wait until you’ve faced one of the Ooze BOW’s – they’re quite malleable and will follow you through vents and through rooms – and you’ll realize that you’re in for a tough fight for survival.

Of course, it won’t be a console port without the HD treatment, enhanced lighting effects, crisper graphics, and new modes and features to complete the package. New to the PS3 version are brand new characters, items, and weapons to the ever-popular “Raid Mode,” a brand-new difficulty called “Infernal Mode,” (new hardcore enemy, plus mixed enemy positions), more save locations, faster load times, and of course, you get to play as HUNK in Raid Mode. Where’s TOFU when you need him?

Resident Evil Revelations is coming to retail and Day One digital download on May 21, 2013 for $49.99.
