Sony Xperia Z Ultra Images Leaked Ahead of it’s Unveil Tomorrow

Sony Xperia Z Ultra 1For those not savvy in the fantastic name scheming that Sony is using which makes all of their products sound the same (Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z, Xperia ZA), the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is the latest to join the ranks. Not be confused with the Xperia Tablet Z or the Xperia Z, their flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z Ultra is the companies first attempt at a phablet. Seeing how Samsung has had some success with the Samsung Galaxy Note series (though we’ve never heard of actual sales numbers for the series), Sony is looking to jump in the larger phone but not quite tablet segment with the Xperia Z Ultra which is expected to be unveiled tomorrow. For those who can’t wait, we have a few more shots for you, after the jump.

Update:

I should point out that despite my own lack of appetite for the market category, I find it fantastic that Sony is being aggressive with their product strategy and going after such markets. However, as I’ve pointed out in previous article, what Sony mainly lacks is proper marketing and carrier support in the West which has been the main culprit and reasoning for their little to no market share. This theory also extends to their other electronics like televisions and cameras while rivals Samsung and Nikon for example bombard the airwaves with advertisement. If such a market category for phablets truly exist, Sony needs to be even more aggressive by letting people know that they make such a product as oppose to relying on sites like our and Engadget which only hit the tech aware consumers which do not represent the majority of consumers.

Does a device like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra interest you or do you prefer to keep your tablet and smartphone separate?
