The Xperia L has finally been updated, after been left quiet on the update front since May this year. Some users had began to doubt the update support for the device until now. Thankfully it has jumped to a newer version of Android too – Jellybean 4.2. Sony says to expect an updated user interface, new camera features and more. Read on to find out when, where and how.

Changes listed in version 15.3.A.0.26 include:

  • Updated to Android version 4.2 Jellybean
  • Homescreen update to a max of 7 screens, easier widget handling. Notifications are now ‘actionable’
  • App tray has been modified, allowing for easier shortcut creation and a new search app function
  • Media apps upgraded, Playmemories app now integrates with the Album app, Music Unlimited now integrates with Walkman
  • New camera detail: burst mode, a rapid succession of shots

Where’s my KitKat?

Users may be wondering why 4.2 now if KitKat 4.4 is now released. Sony did not mention the Xperia L in the first round of KitKat updates, but more information is yet to come. Sony did say that there is also more Jellybean updates on the way for some models.
