Over the past month, Sony has been releasing Android 5.0 Lollipop for a variety of its smartphones, most notably the Xperia Z lineup which will receive the bulk of updates. Previously Sony had planned to bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to only Xperia Z devices but later announced that none Xperia Z devices would receive the update as well. With a bulk of Sony’s newer devices having already received Lollipop, Sony has revealed that the new OS is around the corner for their original flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z.

According to a response from Sony Mobiles official Philippines Twitter account, Android 5.0 Lollipop will be coming to the Sony Xperia Z starting next week. Keep in mind that the given time table could be just for Asia or maybe even specifically the Philippines. Still, this is an indication that the update is done and will be arriving sooner rather than later.
