‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’ Gains New Difficulty Mode & Damage Balance

Coming to the PS4, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will encompass the first three adventures of Nathan Drake. It’s already been revealed that the games will run at 1080p and 60fps which can only add to what have already been three beautiful games. Beyond visual tweaks, developer Bluepoint Studios, who have handled other ports like the God of War Collection, will be improving how damage is dealt in the game alongside a new difficulty mode.

Those details after the jump.

Tentatively dubbed as the ‘Brutal’ difficulty mode, this new option is designed to test the best of the best with its own unique trophy upon completion. However, with that will come balancing tweaks across all three games which Bluepoint Studios believes will help the games flow.

That’s to say that the games will no longer have dynamic difficulty which was especially apparent in the first title that had a drastic change near its finale chapter. Speaking of changes, if you enjoyed helping Drake across logs by using the motion controller, you’ll be sad to hear that it’s going bye bye. However, motion control for throwing grenades will stick around.

An odd choice to keep one but not the other. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be released on October 9th.
