Sony Xperia Z5+ (S70+) Photo Leaks

Another day and another leak. While we’ve already spotted the Sony Xperia Z5 and likely Xperia Z5 Compact which appear to not support the new USB Type-C standard, todays leak is about the more elusive model S70+ that’s been appearing in different databases the past few months.

Lets talk more after the jump, including a larger photo.

While a lot isn’t know about this model, it’s likely to be the Sony Xperia Z5+, their ‘phablet’ that could offer a 6-inch 4K display though that remains unclear. The photo above is unfortunately blurry and taken from an internal Sony slideshow. As for the design, it doesn’t seem like Sony is yet ready to transition away from their current OmniBalance design that we’ve seen in their last few iterations and most recently on the Xperia Z3+/Z4.

If the picture turns out to be real (and we have little reason to believe it’s not), the Sony Xperia Z5+ will come in three colors, black, white, and gold (chrome?) which matches with the current fleet like the Xperia M5 which will also come in those three colors.

Some are even reporting a fingerprint scanner on the side of the device, though I’m not seeing it. With Samsung having just revealed the the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 with similar technology, it’s not far fetched to assume the next flagship Xperia will have one as well.

All that remains besides official specs and better photos is a launch window. Some have speculated the Xperia Z5 range will launch in September at IFA.

What do you think about the Xperia Z5+ from the little we’ve seen from it?
