More Sony Xperia Z5 Details Leak, Including Z5 Compact & Z5 Premium

If the video we posted earlier today, which showed off the soon-to-be-announced Sony Xperia Z5, wasn’t enough, then we’ve got a lot more details to share with you. Set to debut on September 2nd, all rumors had pegged the launch of two or three new flagship smartphones from Sony. The Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and potentially a phablet like model that would likely be called the Xperia Z5+.

Now we have all but confirmed the phones Sony will be launching, including their names and specs. Those details after the jump.

Come Wednesday, Sony will be announcing three new flagship Android smartphones, the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium. While the first two models have been leaked numerous times, it’s perhaps the third one, previously thought to be called the Xperia Z5+, that’s still the most elusive. It remains to be seen if the phablet/phone will launch alongside its two smaller siblings or debut later in the year.

So far, what we do know is this, all three models will offer

  • 23-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 4K Video
  • 8-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 32GB internal memory
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset
  • 3GB RAM
  • Side fingerprint sensor

As far as screen size breakdowns go

  • Sony Xperia Z5
    • 5.2-inch display with FHD (1080 x 1920)
  • Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
    • 4.6–inch display with HD (720 x 1280)
  • Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
    • 5.5–inch display with 4K UHD (resolution to be determined)
