In August, Sony broke the internet when they announced the Limited Edition Darth Vader PS4. Sporting a custom PS4 shell with Lord Vader and a fantastic Dualshock 4 controller that was inspired by Vader’s chest plate, the limited edition bundle quickly rose to the top of the must-have holiday gifts. Unfortunately for those of us who already have a PlayStation 4, there was no way to get in on the Star Wars celebration and purchase the Dualshock 4 separately.

Now Sony has reversed course on the decision.

In a very welcoming manner, Sony has decided that you can purchase the Darth Vader Dualshock 4 controller. No specific price point or release date has yet to be revealed but we likely won’t have to wait long. This is a big win for gamers who already own a PS4 and want some official Star Wars accessories and a win for Sony who can now rake in some extra sales.

The truth is that unless you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan or in the market for a new console, you likely weren’t going to get in on the Darth Vader action. Now everybody has something this holiday season. Good move Sony, good move.
