Sony Xperia Projector With Touch & Voice Gestures Revealed

Sony Xperia Projector

For those playing at home, the Sony Xperia Projector is the third concept product revealed at MWC 2016, behind the Xperia Agent, and Xperia Eye. According to Sony:

the Xperia Projector concept will enrich, empower and stimulate creative family communication using a natural and interactive interface projection on any clear surface. It will respond to touch, voice and gestures just as you would interact with your smartphone screen.

Some thoughts after the jump.

That’s really all the details we currently have to go buy but it’s unlikely that the Xperia Projector is an all-new product. There already exists the Sony Short Throw Projector which is likely what this is based off. Seeing how that projector can work fully wirelessly, it’s not a stretch to imagine the same from this unit with some form of HDMI or HDMI Mini input. Perhaps what’s more fascinating is Sony’s claim that it will

respond to touch, voice and gestures

I already said that the Xperia Agent is an interesting device, due to its ability to respond to voice and throw information on the wall, thanks to its built-in projector. However, the above image, if purely due to its visual charm has me even more excited. It’s unclear if the Sony Xperia Projector has elements of the Xperia Agent inside or not. Combine the two and you have a winner.
