Disney, ESPN and ABC Arrive on PlayStation Vue

Disney, ABC, and ESPN arrive on PlayStation Vue

Last talked about in November, PlayStation Vue owners are finally getting their hands on content produced by Disney which owns ABC and ESPN. Here is Eric Lempel from the PlayStation Blog:

The wait is over — starting today, PlayStation Vue gets a big boost in live sports, family, and primetime TV programming with the arrival of Disney and ESPN Media Networks. This adds popular channels fans have been waiting for, including ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, Disney Channel, and more.

The “more” part is actually important because all together, you’ll be getting access to 11 new channels. Full details after the jump.

Here’s the channel lineup and plans for Disney and ESPN Media Networks that are being added today.

Disney/ABC Television Group

  • ABC (Access)
  • Disney Channel (Access)
  • Disney Junior (Access)
  • Disney XD (Access)
  • Freeform (Access)
  • Fusion (Elite)

ESPN

  • ESPN (Access)
  • ESPN 2 (Access)
  • ESPNU (Core)
  • ESPNEWS (Core)
  • SEC Network (Core)

Also today, ABC local stations will be added to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Plans to add ABC video on-demand programming for Dallas and Miami will be announced at a later date.

In addition, the following channels will also be added to PlayStation Vue at a later date: ESPN3, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded, Longhorn Network, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Classic

One of my biggest reasons for holding off on Vue has been a lack of content from Disney, seeing how I’m a huge fan of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and Muppets to name a few. With access to CBS, NBC, and Fox alongside most cable channels, PlayStation Vue is looking more and more enticing. Now if Sony could only expand their availability a little quicker.
