Latest Sony Video Probably Over Sells the Xperia E4g

Sony_Xperia_E4g_04

The Sony Xperia E4 and Xperia E4g are the latest budget-friendly smartphones from Sony. Designed for emerging markets with a €99 and €129 price tag, Sony has finally been able to put together devices with compelling features and a price tag that’s designed to move. Assuming the right distribution and awareness strategy is executed with their April release, Sony has a chance of moving a decent amount of them and perhaps gaining some marketshare.

Sony, however, may have gotten slightly carried away with the notion of selling the series in their latest video, which can be found after the jump.

After the announcement of the Xperia E4g, Sony is ready to show off their latest budget-friendly Android smartphone with 4G LTE in a new video highlight. The video, which can be found after the jump, showcases and points out some key facts Sony wants you to know about the Xperia E4g.

It’s worth putting this phone in context with the €129 price tag it carries. That price tag is also the cost of outright buying the phone – which is the norm for developing countries, where the phone’s target audience exists. The Sony Xperia E4g video preview awaits you.

Leaked Sony 4K TV Ad; Is Sony Ready For a Full Marketing Campaign?

Thanks to an anonymous tipster who sent us the above video, we may have our very first look at a proper marketing campaign from Sony for their 4K lineup. As you can see from the 30 second ad, Sony is highlighting their ludicrously thin X900C and X910C 4K TV. What strikes me beyond that we’re finally getting a Sony ad is how beautiful the commercial is. Unlike past Sony commercials which at times are too artsy and lose the message or too wordy and try to over sell what the device is, this ad is brilliantly simple. No voiceover, no talk about specs, and certainly not all over the place. Instead the ad focuses on one of the biggest selling points of the X900C line, their thinness.

A few more thoughts after the jump.

Ok, it might not be the next great product promo, but the video (which can be found after the jump) does a pretty good job at showing off the Sony Xperia E4 and highlighting some of the main specs of the budget-friendly Android smartphone.

Sony 4K TV with Android TV UI Preview (video)

One of the biggest reveals from CES 2015 was the embrace of Android TV by Sony. Offered on every 2015 4K television a majority of their HD televisions as well, Android TV will be the core user interface consumers will be faced with. This will hopefully result in not only a smart TV that’s actually smart, but one that has updated apps that can continue to grow and expand our experience with TVs. Traditionally, televisions have either been plagued by poorly written and sluggish apps that are never updated or are purely dumb boxes where apps and network functionality are brought to it via other setup boxes like Apple TV and gaming consoles like the PS4.

More details after the jump.
