For better or for worse, Sony plans to stick to their aggressive smartphone strategy which has seen the company release three flagship phones, the Xperia Z, Xperia Z1, and Xperia Z2 in 18 months. Sony believes that by sticking to such an ambitious product cycle, that they will be able to catch up to Apple and Samsung. Now Sony Mobile’s Creative Director Kurozumi Yoshiro has all but confirmed that we can expect to see a new flagship phone from them in Summer, likely the Xperia Z3. More after the jump.

In a recent interview Yoshiro stated that the Sony Xperia Z2 is the

flagship of the first half of 2014

indicating that a follow up model will be coming in 6 months time. With the Sony Xperia Z2 still not fully launched worldwide, this aggressive plan might eventually begin to piss off carriers who most continue to switch out Sony models and retrain staff members. With the Xperia Z2 featuring a 20-megapixel camera, 4K video recording and a quad-core processor with 3GB RAM, it’s also hard to see how Sony can keep up this pace and what the next Xperia phone would offer that would set it apart from the Xperia Z2.

For our readers outside of the US, have you found it easy for you to obtain an Xperia phone and have retail members been aware of Sony’s phones and their features?
