Sony Xperia Z3 Specs Leaked

Sony Xperia Z3We already know a fair deal about the Xperia Z3, the next flagship Android smartphone from Sony. Thanks to the FCC, we can even confirm the 802.11ac wireless chipset inside the powerful device but more importantly, we can confidently assume that a reveal is in the near future. While Sony might not be quite ready to talk about the Z3, thanks to more leaks, we can reveal some key Xperia Z3 specs that may or may not put a smile on your face.

After the jump, Sony Xperia Z3 specs await you.

According to leaks, the Sony Xperia Z3 specs include:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset (2.4 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 graphics)
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16GB Internal Storage (expandable via SD)
  • 5.15-inch Display (1080p)
  • 20.7-Megapixel Exmor RS (Rear Facing)
  • 2.1-Megapixel (Front Facing)
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat

If those specs seem familiar to you, that’s because they’re identical or near identical to the Xperia Z2, the current flagship smartphone from Sony. If rumors pan out to be true, on the face of it, the Xperia Z3 offers little improvement compared to its predecessor in the specs arena. This of course doesn’t mean both devices will be the same, as better RAM and the newer MSM 8974-AC chipset versus the MSM 8974-AB chipset used in the Xperia Z2 alone can make the experience on the Z3 a far better one. Apple has famously kept their iPhone iterations the same between every other model with the ‘s’ version offering subtle but appreciated improvements over its predecessor.

While those looking to upgrade from the Xperia Z2 to the Xperia Z3 might not see a huge difference, there is plenty to love for those coming from the Xperia Z1, and other smartphones from Sony and its competitors. It’s also believed that the Xperia Z3 will incorporate a wireless charging solution that will set it apart from the Xperia Z2.

If the Sony Xperia Z3 specs pan out to be true, will you be disappointed or do you see more to a phone than just the specs?
