On the heels of a potential new SmartBand from Sony with a heart rate sensor comes an update to Sony’s existing SmartBand Talk SWR30. Different from the SmartBand line, the Sony SmartBand Talk not only incorporates what the SmartBand can do, but adds a few features on top of it like an e-paper display to view information and a microphone to make calls with. Now with the SmartBand Talk 4.0.0.56 update, Sony is bringing a few welcome changes to the sleek wearable.

Weighing in at 17MB, the Sony SmartBand Talk 4.0.0.56 update brings with it:

  • Out-of-range alert: Notify when the phone is left behind
  • Watchfaces: New watchface added
  • Xperia alarm: Vibration-only mode supported

With a three-day battery life, the vibration mode on the alarm can be a great feature to put to use, ensuring that only you are awoken by the alarm.
